The Heart:
The heart of this ministry is to see children receive Jesus personally in their hearts as Savior and Lord.

The Purpose and Goal:
We want to reach children in understandable and creative ways with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the "Cornerstone" of our faith. It is our goal to lay a foundation of faith that will prepare and facilitate them to embrace their calling and design in God. It is our heart's desire to see these children grow in their knowledge about God, and be spiritual leaders of the next generation.

Sunday school classes are designed so that churched and unchurched children will be stimulated and challenged in the truths of the Bible and godly character. If a child moves from merely knowing about Jesus to wanting to know and accept Jesus, we will provide the child with guidance and discipleship on a personal level, while the rest of the class moves on collectively in the regular Sunday lessons. Our aim is to implement a reward system to encourage and motivate the children to participate in memorizing scripture, and reading classics of faith such as Pilgrims Progress, In His Steps, Missionary autobiographies, etc. which are translated to the appropriate level.

The Desires:
1. It is our desire that Sunday school will be also enjoyable for the children, to the extent that they will want to invite their friends.

2. We desire to reach out to children in the community via events less structured than Sunday School like our *Gospel Hula classes or our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Events like these are open to all families whether they attend HCNS or not.

3. We eventually want to see each child supported by a caring mentor who will pray for, encourage, and support them as needed in and outside of the Sunday School setting.

Mentor - is a man or woman who serves as guide or coach for discipling the child from a good home or as a trusted counselor to encourage and nurture the child in a difficult home situation. In this way the children are taught practical application of the truths and ways of God and loved in a personal and demonstrative way by someone besides a parent.
